Environment Canada offers a variety of weather forcasting products. These local forecasts are usually a good first step for a gliding weather briefing.

Tephigrams from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Forecast Systems Lab (FSL) can be used to predict thermal strength and top of convection. Insert the expected high temperature of the day at ground level by clicking on the graph and the Java applet will draw the wet and dry adiabats telling you how high the lift will go, and if it will be a blue day or a Cu day.
