It is common for soaring conditions to be favourable during calm, West or Northwest wind conditions. In all of these cases it can be expected that Ottawa Intl will be using runway 25 and 32 for arriving and departing aircraft. As such, the VNC chart has overlays only for Rwy 25 and 32. Reference can be made to the actual SID Ottawa 9 chart for Rwy 07 and 14.
The SID Ottawa 9 is a common departure routing out of Ottawa Intl for both non-FMS equipped and FMS equipped aircraft. This SID services all of the runways. The common detail with the SID Ottawa 9 is that jet aircraft will climb on runway heading until at least 3000' AGL (due to noise abatement procedures), at which point headings and/or vectors will be assigned to the departing aircraft depending on the enroute airways filed. The standard SID altitude is 5000' ASL for jet aircraft.
Departing aircraft will normally not be any factor to local Pendleton Airfield traffic.

Sailplanes are not necessarily seen on ATC radar. ATC may have no awareness of your presence! If you are seen on ATC radar, the raw radar returns from a sailplane are often confused as a flock of birds. It is always considered to be superior airmanship to use the radio to contact the Ottawa TCA periodically to inform them of your position, altitude and intentions should you be approaching any airspace boundary or if you suspect you may be a potential conflict for other aircraft.
All climbing aircraft will normally reach altitudes in excess of 6500' ASL while within 10 nm of Ottawa. No conflict should be encountered with local Pendleton flying, however flights from Rideau Valley Soaring School (Kars) can have IFR traffic climb North of the CYR534 (S) training area that is capped at 2500' ASL. Departing jet aircraft will normally be capable of climbing in excess of 12,500' ASL while still within 20 nm of Ottawa Intl.
Ottawa TCA assumes control of outbound IFR aircraft just after takeoff to approximately 24nm or as the departing aircraft approaches FL230. IFR aircraft may request to be cleared at an enroute altitude below 6500' ASL. Ottawa TCA will only approve clearing an aircraft at a low altitude if there is no known traffic.
